Old Town Carnival Week
Open gardens, exhibitions and events, and much dressing up, with a pram race thrown in midweek; carnival in Hastings Old Town offers more mad seaside charm and spans two weekends. It includes a variety, and often dark, Old Town walks, from Graveyards at Sunset and Twilight Smugglers Walk, to Foyle’s Walk – the TV drama Foyles War was filmed in Hastings Old Town, and many gardens open their gates for all to share.
Add another highlight to your week by visiting a real Tudor house, 135 All Saints Street, which will be open for two days, coinciding with carnival procession day. Carnival Week sees hundreds visit the house over one weekend, and for those that came before, please do return, for now you can read all about the house’s history, how it was before, and the extraordinary changes it has seen.
This magical house and its secret garden filled with giant plants is an experience like no other. Come and see – you’ll be amazed.
